There are two ways to access your account:
1) Online
To begin:
- Click on “MY LIBRARY ACCOUNT” at the top of the home page of the website to access the Library’s catalogue.
- Click on “My Account” at the top of the page.
- In the Login name box type a “p” followed by your library card number.
- Your temporary password is “library”.
- Click “sign in” to access your account.
If this is the first time you sign into your account you should change your temporary password.
- Click on “Change Login/Password”
- Enter a new personal password.
- Confirm your password.
- You may want to write the number down to be able to access your account at a later date!
If you have forgotten your password you will have to contact the Library at 613-446-5680 to have your password re-set to the temporary password “library” which you can then personalize.
To view and renew your borrowed items:
- Clicking on “Current Transactions” will bring up a list of all items currently on your card.
- Click on the “renew” button next to each item to extend your loan period.
- If you are unable to renew an item, it is because the item is on hold for another patron. The unrenewable item must therefore be returned to the Library by the due date so fees don’t accumulate.
To put a “Reserve” on an item:
- Click on “Standard Search” located at the left of your screen.
- Type either the subject, title or the author of the item you are researching.
- Once you have found the item click on “details” and a list of all copies will appear. Click on the “Reserve” button for the item and location you desire.
- A message will appear on the screen confirming that the item was put on reserve for you.
- If the item you want is “On Loan” to someone else you can put a reserve on the item by clicking on the “reserve” button.
- A message will appear on the screen confirming that the item was put on reserve for you.
- Once the item becomes available the Library will call to notify you. You have 4 business days to pick up the item once the call has been made.
If you are having trouble getting into your account, please contact the Library at 613-446-5680 and a Service Representative will help you through the process.
