Job Summary
The Clarence-Rockland Public Library is committed to engaging with the community through programs that support learning, social and community development as well as creativity and innovation. The Teen Club Leader is responsible for developing, coordinating and delivering programming to teens during the summer program.
Essential Job Functions
Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the candidate will offer a weekly activity to teens aged 12 to 16 years old. They will have to plan, prepare the material and deliver the program. They will also promote the program to local schools and community organizations. The candidate will be comfortable with a teenage clientele and will know how to keep them engaged as well as know how to discipline them if need be.
Qualifications
- Fluent in both English and French.
- Must be registered in a full-time program in the fall of 2024 at a post-secondary institution.
- Experience in the field of recreation, education or arts is beneficial.
- The candidate will be trained in occupational health and safety levels.
The candidate will have to demonstrate:
- Creativity in designing activities for adolescents.
- Excellent communication skills in both official languages.
- Flexibility and autonomy with tasks.
- Being comfortable interacting with teens and their parents.
- Initiative and organizational skills.
Must be available to run the program from May 13 to August 23, 2024
Salary $ 20.00 per hour
35 hours per week
