National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

The CRPL is proud to be presenting these events for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day. We encourage everyone coming into the branch to wear orange to commemorate the day.

9:25 AM
Catherina, the CRPL CEO, will welcome Abigail Collins, a Mi’kmaq First Nation descendent and student in grade 8 at l’Escale, and give her tobacco out of respect. She will then recite the land acknowledgment.

9:30 AM
Abigail will read Indigenous stories during the French Indigenous Storytime for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years. Register for EVENT HERE.

9:55 AM
Catherina will welcome Louise Vien, a Métis artist, and give her tobacco out of respect. She will then recite the land acknowledgment.

10:00 AM
Mme Vien will read Indigenous stories during the English Indigenous Storytime for children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years. Register for EVENT HERE.

10:30, 10:55, 11:20 and 11:45 AM
Mme Vien will present educational sessions with regards to the history of Orange Shirt Day and how to commemorate National Day For Truth and Reconciliation.

Mayor of Clarence-Rockland, Mario Zanth, will be attending some of the events between 10 AM and 12 PM.
