TEEN CLUB LEADER

The Clarence-Rockland Public Library is looking for a Teen Club Leader

Functions & Duties:

Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the candidate will offer a weekly activity to teens aged 12 to 16 years old. He/She will have to plan, prepare the material and deliver the program. He/She will also promote the program to local schools and community organizations. The candidate will be comfortable with a teenage clientele and will know how keep them involved as well as know how to discipline them if need be.

Requirements and qualifications:

French: speak read write

English: speak read write

Must be registered in a full-time program in the fall of 2019 at a post-secondary institution.

Experience in the field of recreation, education, arts is beneficial.

Criminal record check.

The candidate will be trained in occupational health and safety levels.

The candidate will have to demonstrate:

  • Creativity in designing activities for adolescents;
  • Excellent communication in both official languages;
  • Flexibility, autonomy with tasks;
  • Interact with teens and their parents;
  • Show initiative and organizational skills.

SUMMER PROGRAM ANIMATOR

The Clarence-Rockland Public Library is seeking a facilitator to facilitate its 16-week TD Summer Reading Program from May 13 to August 30, 2019.

Functions & Duties

Under the supervision of the Programming Coordinator, the candidate will:

  • Develop, promote and lead the TD Summer Reading Club for children ages 6 to 12
  • Participate as needed, in related programming tasks
  • Offer the program to different branches
  • Will have to work occasionally in the evening

Requirements and qualifications

French: speak read write
English: speak read write

  • Must be currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary institution and fall 2019
  • Excellent oral and written command of French and English.
  • Great flexibility to work in a team
  • Must be creative, punctual, accountable and organized
  • Ability to communicate with children, parents or the general public
  • Driver’s license valid in Ontario and access to a vehicle
  • Experience in social, cultural, scientific and / or educational environments would be an asset.
